Thomas, Sally Ann McLaughlin Saginaw, Michigan Sally passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2012. She was born in Saginaw on April 26, 1931 to Martin and Marion McLaughlin, the eldest of five siblings, Thomas, Mary McLaughlin Lawler (Jerry), Martin, deceased (Mary), and Kathleen McLaughlin Strohmaier (Jerry). The family grew up on Chestnut Street, near Fordney Park, where such fond memories were formed. Theirs was a close knit family with relatives right in the neighborhood. Sally spent many a happy day visiting her maternal grandmother, Alice Berger Farley, who lived a few blocks away near SS Peter and Paul's parochial school. She graduated from this school in 1949. She was a lifetime member of the League of Catholic Women. She excelled in bookkeeping and typing. Sally truly enjoyed her work in the business offices of Norwalk Trucking and at Wickes. On May 9, 1953 she married Clifford L. Thomas. He predeceased her on April 20th of this year. Together, they had four children, Mary Thomas Dersch (John) of East Grand Rapids, Clifford L. Thomas II (Marjorie) of Cleveland, Ohio, Angela of Saginaw, and Christopher of New York City. Her children were her life and she loved them dearly as they loved her. She was a mother who was always there as she did not work after her children were born. Sally had four lovely grandchildren she adored and with whom she and dad spent many happy times: Joshua and Jacob Dersch, Benjamin and Erin Thomas. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Leonard Thomas and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mother will be dearly missed. She would want everyone to remember to enjoy each second of everyday! According to her wishes, no funeral service will be held. A memorial mass will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2013 at St. Stephen Catholic Church.
