Samantha “Sam” Wells
Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved daughter, sister, and aunt passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 24, 2020 at her home; at the age of 41 years.
The daughter of Michelle Hart and Edward Wells, Sam was born on July 22, 1979 in Saginaw, Michigan. She graduated from Reese High School as an Honors Student, with the Class of 1997. Sam continued her education at Delta College and graduated with an Associate’s Degree as a Registered Nurse in 2002. She worked for 17 years as a Registered Nurse at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital. Sam was a kindhearted, empathetic, and compassionate caretaker as she had a passion and love for caring for her patients. Sam was a little left of center; she was not a follower as she made her own path. Her family would define her sense of humor as sarcastic, although Sam was tenderhearted, selfless, generous, thoughtful, was a good listener, and had a bright smile sure to light up a room. She enjoyed watching crime investigation shows, Law and Order, the Golden Girls, and Oxygen with her sister. Sam loved to travel extensively from state to state, especially to Lake Charlevoix and Chicago being among her couple favorite travels. She enjoyed living life to the fullest, experiencing life around her. Above all, Sam cherished the time spent with her family.
Surviving besides her mother: Michelle Hart; and father: Edward Wells; are a sister and a brother: Brianna Wells; Daniel (Liana) Wells; three nephews: Collin, Alexander and Brady Wells; and an aunt: Bridget Hart. Sam adored animals, especially her two beloved fur babies: Mickey and Peanut. Also surviving are many extended family members. Sam was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents: Alonzo Jr. and Jacqueline Hart; and her paternal grandparents: Ernest and Jessie Wells; and two beloved fur babies: Courage and Casper.
Honoring Samantha’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to S.O.S. Animal Rescue.
