Bommarito, Samuel Thomas Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Sunday, June 28, 2015 at his home following a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born June 2, 1947 in Saginaw to Elizabeth (Mang) Bommarito and the late Frank Bommarito. He married Diana Young September 16, 1986; she survives him. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School and then served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from Eaton Corporation after 31 years of service. He had a love for country music, enjoyed camping, fishing, wood-working and was an avid U of M football fan. Surviving besides his loving wife, Diana, are his son Brandon (Briana White), St. Charles, Michigan. He also leaves his mother, Elizabeth Bommarito; his brother, Frank (Carol) Bommarito, Rochester, Michigan; his sister, Linda Bommarito, Berkley, Michigan; his mother-in-law, Barbara Young, Beaverton, Michigan; his brothers-in-law, Don (Ashley) and Dan Young; sister-in-law, Susan Young; a special cousin, Bob Albosta, Tawas, Michigan; his step-mother-in-law, Patty Platko; many nieces and nephews and other relatives. He was predeceased by his brother, Michael; and his sister, Elizabeth Ann and his father-in-law, Jerry Young. He was also predeceased by his brother-in-law, David and father-in-law, Jack Platko. Sam's family extends their gratitude to his nurse, Denise, Nurse's Aid, Amanda and to the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center and the Ann Arbor VA Medical Center for their care. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 3, 2015 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 2461 N. Raucholz Rd. Rev. Dr. William L. Morris will officiate with military honors under the auspices of Hemlock-Merrill VFW Post #7302. Friends may visit with the family at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd., from 3:00 8:00 p.m. Thursday. They may then call at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
