Sandra J. "Sandy" Wood

Sandra J. "Sandy" Wood of Bay City, Michigan, formerly of Saginaw Beloved sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2019, at McLaren Bay Region. She was 80 years old. Sandra Joy Wood was born on August 26, 1939, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Sylvester G. and Margaret L. (Porterfield) Wood. She was a proud 1957 graduate of Saginaw High School. Sandy worked for the Wickes Corporation and later from the Saginaw County Sheriffs Department, retiring after many years of service. With her camera in hand, Sandy enjoyed taking pictures and spending time with family and friends at various gatherings over the years. She also enjoyed going to concerts and loved and treasured her cats. Surviving are two sisters-in-law: Barbara A. Wood of Hemlock; Pat J. Wood of Freeland; five nieces and three nephews: Michelle (John) McInnis, Kimberly (Pat) Reid, Shari (Pete) King, Chad (Nicole) Wood, Richard Wood, Renee Wood, Brian Bedore, Bridget (John) Kerr. Also surviving are many great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Edwin L. Wood, Richard L. Wood, and Ronald S. Wood. A Memorials Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Rev. Rob Richards will officiate. Honoring Sandys wishes cremation has taken place. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral chapel on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place at a later date at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the American Cancer Society.
