Sandra “Sandy” J. Schneider
Shields, Michigan
Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at Covenant HealthCare – Cooper, with her family at her side; at the age of 82 years.
The daughter of the late William and Dorothy (Warner) Rivett, Sandy was born on January 19, 1940 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married Verne L. Schneider on February 7, 1956 in Indiana; he preceded her in death on April 21, 2010. Sandy worked at Uncle Bob’s restaurant for many years of loyal and dedicated service. She was of the Catholic faith. To her family, Sandy was a creative individual with an eye to create many beautiful flower arrangements. Her family will fondly remember Sandy for being a funny, feisty and spunky lady. Above all, Sandy cherished the time spent with her family, especially children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
Surviving are two sons: Skye (Diane) Schneider, Matt Schneider; grandchildren: Skye N. (Patty) Schneider, Madison, Cole and Averie Schneider; great-grandchildren: May and Skye R. Schneider; former daughter-in-law: Mary Ann Schneider; and very dear friends: Joan Armstrong and Betty Berkobien. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Besides her husband and her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by brothers and sisters: Patricia Greenwald, Calvin Rivett, Robert Rivett, Gerald Rivett, Diane Smith and Mary Ellen Rivett.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to her friends: her caregiver, Nancy Nemeth; and Suzanne Kemp; for their kind and compassionate care of Sandy.
Funeral service will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road, Saginaw, Michigan 48609. Rev. Fr. Steve Gavit will officiate. Entombment will take place at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral chapel on Tuesday. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Saginaw County Animal Shelter.
