Sarah E. (MacRae) Holecheck

Sarah MacRae Holecheck passed into Heaven on January 29, 2020. She was born in Saginaw, Michigan on November 22, 1966, the third daughter of Edward C. MacRae, Jr. and Nancy (Remer) MacRae. She graduated from Arthur Hill High School, class of l984, and attended Ferris State University, where she received her bachelor's degree in Advertising and Communications. Subsequently she worked in New York City and Denver, Colorado. During her Colorado years she began a family, enjoyed a satisfying career and attended many Colorado Rockies games. In the early 2,000's she moved to Frederic, Michigan to raise her three children and be closer to family. Sarah dedicated 19 years to working in the administrative side of education. Those who knew her admired her advocacy for higher education. She took pride in her work and had many personal interests as well. She had a love of music and was a passionate fan of the University of Michigan Wolverines, attending as many games as possible. Summers were enjoyed with her husband Randy, family and friends on Guthrie Lake. Friends loved her charismatic personality and sense of humor. Sarah was preceded in death by her father, Edward C. MacRae, Jr. and a close friend, Carlee Allen. Surviving besides her husband Randy, are her children, Jacob, Alice and Elizabeth Madonna, her mother, Nancy MacRae, her sisters Linda A. MacRae, Fair Oaks, California and Laura B. (Mike) Andrews, Gaylord, Michigan, and nieces Taline, Ani, Tamar and Nora Kuyumjian and Jenna Andrews, and cousins Kelley Murphy and Duncan MacRae. Also surviving are her stepchildren, Joshua (Lauren) Holecheck, Jourdan (Travis) Oelke, Jennaca Holecheck and adored grandchildren, Eben and Vivian Oelke. Those she left behind will cherish her memory and her contagious laugh. At a later date a celebration of life will be held for family and friends. Those considering memorials may wish to consider her P.E.O. group which promotes and supports women's education. Donations may be sent to P.E.O.
