Selma Z. Blohm (Sammie) Zilwaukee, Michigan Passed away Sunday, December 7, 2014, at Covenant-Cooper. Age 89 years. The eighth child of the late Barbara (Karl) and Adam Zanner was born September 19, 1925 in Blumfield Township, Michigan. She married Wesley R. Blohm, October 28, 1950. He survives her. She had been employed by Consumers Power Co. and later as Lunch Supervisor at the Zilwaukee Schools. She was baptized, October 11, 1925 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Frankenlust and confirmed there in 1938. She was an active member of her church and the community. She was honored as Citizen of the Year in Zilwaukee in 2011. She was currently a member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Zilwaukee and its Ladies Aid. She was a member of the American Businesswomen's Assoc. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, sewing, golfing and bowling. Most of all, she enjoyed attending all of her grandchildren's sporting events. Surviving besides her husband, Wesley, are a son, a daughter and their spouses; Jim and Judy Blohm; Lynn and Dale Taylor. A son, David Blohm has predeceased her. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Jeremy and Taylor Blohm; Josh and Amanda Blohm; Kara and Matt Schroeder; Leya Taylor; Adrea and Keith Gardner; her great grandchildren, Tyler and Whitney Blohm; Riley and Jordan Blohm; Alexandra, Ava, and Caleb Schroeder; Kerin and Emma Gardner; her sister, Irene Graff; many nieces and nephews. Seven brothers and sisters have also predeceased her. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 11, 2014, at St. John Lutheran Church, 318 S. Franklin St. Zilwaukee. Pastor Marcus Manthey will officiate with entombment in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and then on Thursday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
