Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Friend and faithful woman of God (affectionately known by many as " Granny") passed away on June 30, 2020 at the age of 81 years.
The daughter of the late Sylvester T. Hollingsworth and Rheta P. (Sturgis) Hollingsworth, Sharon was born on August 24, 1938 in Flint, MI. She graduated from Merrill High School, the class of 1957. Sharon married Herbert A. Letts on September 1961. He predeceased her on January 13, 1983. In 2002, she retired from Bay County, after enjoying a fruitful career which included various employment opportunities over the span of 47 years. Throughout her life, Sharon enjoyed knitting, crocheting and cooking, with which she blessed many people with wonderful handmade gifts and used her talent for preparing delicious food to bring joy to people and bring them together on many special occasions. Sharon was especially known for her Christmas candy and cookies, her catering skills, and Sunday and Holiday dinners prepared with love for her family. In her later years, "Granny" could often be found in the kitchen spending time baking or cooking with her grandchildren and great grandchild, or working on her crossword puzzles.
Surviving are her children: Ann M. Letts of Essexville , John J. and Debra A. Letts of Hemlock, and Rheta M. Letts of Bay City, her grandchildren: Stepfanie L. Kill of Bay City, John J. Letts Jr. and special friend Sahara Brisson of Hemlock, Julia N. Letts of Saginaw, and Kimberly A. Kill of Bay City, great-grandchildren: Joseph M. " L.J." Parkinson, and Baby Letts due in December 2020 , siblings: Ervin T. ( Mary ) Hollingsworth, and Sister in Law Mildred (Cloyce ) Ross , and many nieces, nephews, relatives and close friends. Besides her spouse and parents, she was predeceased by special friends Brian and Cynthia Groulx, and Joseph T.B. Parkinson (Father of LJ.)
Per Sharon's wishes, cremation has taken place. Due to the world wide Covid -19 Pandemic, a graveside funeral service and a celebration of Sharon's life will be announced at a later date. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider The American Diabetes Association or Zion (Iva) Lutheran Church of Hemlock.
Sharon's family would like to extend a thank you to Bay McLaren Regional Medical Center (CCU and Inpatient Rehab) and Bay Medical Care Facility for all of their care during our Mother’s time of need. A very special thank you to our family friend Mike Murphy R.N. (McLaren Bay ER) for his caring and compassion for our Mom in her final moments.
