Sharon Elaine Dunbar

Sharon Elaine Dunbar of Midland, Michigan Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, December 28, 2019, at Covenant HealthCare - Harrison. She was 71 years old. Sharon Elaine Foy was born on September 28, 1948, in Saginaw, Michigan, the first of two children born to Albert William and Elaine Caroline (Bolger) Foy. She was a proud 1967 graduate of Buena Vista High School. Following graduation, Sharon studied nursing at Delta College and Saginaw General Hospital. She met the love of her life, Dennis Stanley Dunbar on Valentines Day 1967. They were united in marriage on February 22, 1969; he survives her. Sharon worked for and retired from the Dow Chemical Company as a Chemical Operator after 20 years of service. She later worked for 15 years with Walmart in Midland where she made many friends as a cashier. Sharon was a member of Midland Missionary Church and Zion Lutheran Church. Sharon enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She loved classic cars, especially her gold 1969 Ford Mustang. Sharon loved and cherished her animals and family and also enjoyed the tranquility that peace and quietness brought to her life. She will forever be remembered for her sensibility and selflessness to all. Surviving are her husband of 50 years, Dennis S. Dunbar of Midland; son, Roy D. (Tracey) Dunbar of Midland; two grandchildren: Garrett Kapff of Midland; Tylar Kapff of Midland; mother, Elaine C. Foy of Midland; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Williams of Midland; nephew and niece: Eric Foy of Midland; Lesley (Vince) Rine of Fishers, IN; two great-niecese: Abigail and Amelia Rine. She was preceded in death by her father, Albert William Foy; brother, William Allen Foy. A small gathering for friends and family will take place at a later date. Honoring Sharons wishes cremation has taken place.
