Shirley passed away at her home on April 18, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was 78 years of age. Shirley was born on June 24, 1942 to the late John and Mary (Sefcik) Lichon in Saginaw. She was a graduate of Holy Rosary High School, class of 1960. Shirley married Martin Ignasinski Jr. on June 22, 1994 in Kalispell, Montana.
Shirley was employed with Valley Glass as the office manager for almost 20 years. She retired in 1999. Shirley was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church for many years. She was an avid crafter, card maker and gardener; she also loved to play cards. Above all Shirley was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend; she cherished her time spent with her family, who was the most important to her.
She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Martin Ignasinski Jr., her children: Lora Morrell, Robert Morrell, Lois (Kurt) Akin, Joe Ignasinski, Jay Ignasinski , grandchildren: Ryan (Sara) Morrell- Peters, Jessica (Kevin) Whitney, Luke (Kaitlyn) Morrell, Lyndsy Stull, Caitlin Phillips, great- grandchildren: Nora Peters, Thomas Peters and Annalise Whitney. Shirley is also survived by her siblings Richard (Dianne) Lichon and Elaine (Paul) Kucher.
She was predeceased by her children Robert Morrell Jr. and Lisa Phillips.
A Funeral Mass will take place at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church (6440 McCarty Road, Saginaw, Michigan 48603). Father Richard Jozwiak will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 9:00 am until the time the service at church.
