Harris, Shirley Ann (Anderson) Saginaw, Michigan Passed away September 21, 2015. Age 90 years. Shirley Ann was born October 20, 1924 in Saginaw, Michigan the daughter of the late Elisher F. and Salena (Whelton) Anderson. She graduated from Sts. Peter and Paul High School, Class of 1940. She worked at Eaton Manufacturing in Saginaw until she enlisted in the U.S. Army as a W.A.C. in 1944. After finishing basic training at Fort Des Moines, Iowa, she took medical courses while stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas. While a Medical Tech, she worked at Winter General Hospital, Topeka, Kansas. Then she moved to Camp Campbell, Kentucky where she was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant. Shirley married Edward K. Harris. He predeceased her. She began working on January 1, 1961 at American States Insurance Company as a secretary and retired as the Manager of the Lansing Michigan branch on January 31, 1986. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, E. Joseph (Joe) and Laura (Betty) Harris, Saginaw, MI; two grandchildren and their spouses, Denise L. and Mark McLean, Saginaw, MI; Daniel J. and Tricia Harris, Riverview, MI; four great grandchildren, Jenna Jaye McLean; Julianna Marie Harris; Alaina Cecelia Harris and Alicia Ann Harris; one brother and his wife, Jerald T. and Carol Anderson, Freeland, MI; a sister-in-law, Jean Anderson, St. James, MN; several nieces and nephews. A special niece and God-daughter, Phyllis M. (Alfred) Erskine, Harrison, MI. She was also predeceased by her sisters, Arlene Ulicki, Patreva Colby, her brothers, Clifford and Donald Anderson. The funeral liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 24, 2015, at St. Francis de Sales Parish, St. Christopher site, 3945 Williamson Rd. Bridgeport. Rev. John Mancini O.S.F.S will officiate with military burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens under the auspices of V.F.W. Post # 1859. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 5700 Dixie Hwy from 3:00-9:00 p.m. Wednesday and then on Thursday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral liturgy.
