Shirley Ann Zieroff of Saginaw, Michigan
Went home to be with the Lord at her home with her family by her side on Wednesday, July 27, 2022. She was 86 years old. Shirley Ann Erlenbeck was born on August 22, 1935, in Beaver, Michigan, to the late Edward Adolf and Anna Marguerite (Jammer) Erlenbeck. She married the love of her life, Charles Zieroff, in March 1952; he preceded her in death on January 31, 2003. As a teenager, Shirley worked as a waitress for Anderson Steakhouse and later at the Saginaw Furniture Shop. In 1970, she became the banquet manager at Swan Valley Country Club where she served the community for over four years. It 1974, Shirley began working as a machinist for Saginaw Steering Gear at plants 2, 3, and 5, retiring after 18 years of loyal and dedicated service. She was a proud member of the U.A.W. Local 699. Shirley was a former member of St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and a current and faithful member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church on Brockway. The role of Shirley’s lifetime was to be a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed working on arts and crafts projects, bowling and loved playing BINGO.
Surviving are seven children: Sheila Anderson of Saginaw; Thomas (Kathleen) Zieroff of Saginaw; Pamela Burns of Reese; Gregory Zieroff of St. Charles; Eric Zieroff of Saginaw; Charlene (Kip) Hill of Saginaw; Tonya Leitz of Saginaw; son-in-law, Larry Bogart of Cass City; 25 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; three brother, Lyle (Kathy) Erlenbeck of CA; Richard (Sharon) Erlenbeck of Freeland; Gerald (Marilyn) Erlenbeck of Thomas Township; sister-in-law, Rosalyn Erlenbeck of Bay City. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Bogart; two sons-in-law, Harold Anderson amd John Burns; two great-grandchildren; two sisters: Lois (Charles) Balley and Nancy (Raymond) McCullum; one brother, Vern Erlenbeck.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Covenant VNA Hospice, especially, Nicole, Carly, and Summer for all the love and care they provided to Shirley and the family.
A Funeral Service will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4705 Brockway Rd. Rev. Andy Retberg will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the W. L. Case & Company, 201 N. Miller Road on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
