Brashaw, Shirley Saginaw, MI Passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Cartwright Care Center at the age of 77 years. The daughter of the late Vernon and Erma (Smith) Severance was born on March 15, 1936. She married Gilbert C. Brashaw on December 26, 1953; he survives her. She retired from Saginaw Public Schools after 19 years of service. She was a member of New Lothrop Nazarene Church. She loved working with children; and spending time with her family. Surviving besides her husband of 59 years, Gilbert, are their children; Cathy (Randy) Doan, Paul (Jan) Brashaw, 6 grandchildren; Gevin, Ryan, Brennan Doan, Andrew (Gretchen) Brashaw, Katie (Matt) Lyle, Melissa Brashaw, one great-grandchild, Avalon Lyle. She was predeceased by a sister; Lois Rix. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 2, 2013 at New Lothrop Nazarene Church, 7406 S. Saginaw St., New Lothrop, MI 48460. Friends may visit with the family at church on Friday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
