Sophia M. Lockwood

Sophia M. Lockwood Frankenmuth, Michigan Passed away on October 2, 2017, at the age of 98 years. Sophia was born November 19, 1918, in Saginaw to the late George and Helen (Paquette) Koinis. In her youth, she enjoyed speed skating with her sisters, a hobby she passed down to her son. She was very proud to work in the Popcorn Wagon which was the family business her father started. She was also a manager at her brothers restaurant, "The Chicken Coop". Later she became an adult caregiver. Sophia loved spending time with her family especially during the Holidays. Some of her best memories were holidays spent with her whole family. She is survived by her grandchildren, Peter Kyle, Kathryn (Gordon) Weiss, Julie (Bill) Cather, and Rachel (Adam) Larken, and Michelle Kyle; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Jeanne Kyle; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd Lockwood; son, George Kyle Sr.; grandchildren, George Kyle Jr. and Kimberly Kyle; siblings and in-laws, Bruce and Maxine Lennox, Mary and Richard Riebschleger, Peter Koinis, James and Phyllis Koinis, Dorothy Elliott and Rene Prudhomme. Committal services will take place at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 6, 2017, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. www.casefuneralhome.com
