Steven J. Wahl

Beloved husband, brother, stepfather, grandfather passed away on March 10, 2021, at Covenant Healthcare after a two week battle with COVID-19. Steven peacefully passed into the loving hands of God with his wife, Carole, and stepson, Justin, present and surrounded by much love from all of his family who could not be with him due to COVID regulations. Those who knew Steven are so grateful to God to have had him in their lives, and the happy memories of Steve will grace any dark hours of our lives.

The son of the late Delbert C. and Mary E. Wahl was born on October 7, 1960 in Saginaw, Michigan. He graduated from Douglas MacArthur High School, class of 1978. He attended Davenport University and graduated with an Associate Degree. Steve worked for Corteva Company (Dow Chemical) in Midland, Michigan, as a chemical production worker. Steve married Carole Kiley on July 1, 2000, in Saginaw, Michigan, and they were happily married for almost 21 years.

Always the joker who liked to catch people off guard, Steve never failed to have a wise crack for any subject. Steve was an avid motorcycle fan, he thoroughly enjoyed a leisurely ride on his Honda Valkyrie on a nice day. He loved camping with his wife, Carole, and adored his beloved cat, Trouble. He was a great supporter of Toys for Tots, loved animals, and dearly loved his entire family. Steve was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church in Saginaw, Michigan. He was an amazing husband, stepfather, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. Steven will be greatly missed by every person who was blessed to have known him.

Steven came from a large family. In addition to his loving wife, Carole, he is survived by his cat, Trouble, his stepson and wife, Justin and Destiny Gilbert; one sister, Sharon (Sam) Roberts; two brothers, Richard (Joyce) Wahl, Larry (Patricia) Wahl; granddaughters, Meridian Schram, Marlaina Schram, Haley Gilbert, Mackenzie Gilbert, and Autumn Schram, and many, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Steve will always be remembered for being a goodhearted man, a fun guy, a loving family member, and a wonderful friend. We all love you, Steve, and you will always be in our hearts and minds. Thank you for gracing us with being such a loving part of our lives.

Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 1209 Hancock Street, Saginaw. Rev. Sue Hand will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Masks are required and social distancing encouraged. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Zion Lutheran Church (Saginaw), or the Undercover Angels Animal Rescue of Saginaw.
