Susan Lynne Turner of Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Sunday, March 13, 2022. She was 82 years old. Susan Lynn Spriggs was born on June 2, 1939, in Hamtramack, Michigan, to the late George and Ruth (Blythe) Spriggs. She was a graduate of Redford High School, in Detroit Michigan. Following graduation, Susan attended Alma College graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in English. She is survived by the love of her life, David Lyle Turner. They met at Alma College and were united in marriage on August 19, 1961. Susan held several careers throughout her life, but the role of her lifetime and the essence of her being, was to be a devoted wife, a loving mother, and grandmother, and to create nothing but beautiful memories in the home. Susan's passion in life was cooking and her secret ingredient was to always cook with love. Watching and reading Julia Childs instilled in her the infinite wisdom she needed to make every meal the best she ever created. A patron of the library, Susan loved books and was a voracious reader. Her intellect led her on the journey to attend graduate school at the University of Michigan where she earned her Master's Degree in Social Work. Susan held a special place in her heart for all animals, especially dogs. She found peace and serenity in nature, whether it was feeding the raccoons, watching the birds, or taking walks; Susan understood the melody of life. She enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles from the Sunday edition of the New York Times, and could be quite competitive while playing both backgammon and Scrabble. Above all, Susan treasured and cherished her family. She left her indelible mark on this world through the kindness, compassion, and care she held for her family and friends, her quick wit and excellent sense of humor, and for embodying love as selflessly as possible.

Surviving are her husband of 60 years, David Turner of Saginaw; two sons and a daughter: Matthew Turner of Saginaw; Carolyn (Karl) Klos of Battle Creek; Andrew Turner of Saginaw; and two grandchildren: Katelyn and Samantha Klos of Battle Creek.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Tom (Sally) Spriggs.
