Susan "Sue" Jo Weersma

Sue Jo (Restifo) Ginderske-Weersma, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on April 18, 2023, at the age of 66. She was born on January 27, 1957, in Oakley, Michigan, to William and Geraldine (Griese) Ginderske, both of whom preceded her in death.

Sue graduated from Carrollton High in 1975, and most of her career was spent working as a phlebotomist. Her colleagues and patients alike knew her for her kindness, patience, and professionalism. She was also an active member of Old Town Christian Outreach, where she found great joy in volunteering and serving her community.

In her free time, Sue enjoyed a variety of hobbies and activities, including decorating, landscaping, camping, boating, and cooking. Her family and friends will always remember her delicious meals and beautifully decorated home.

Sue is survived by her partner Bill Vlassis, her siblings Shirley Kleinfeld, Ervin Ginderske, Sallie Wardwell, Mary Sweatland, and Debra Rose Schrems, her loving children, Thomas and Sam Restifo, and her grandchildren, Taylor Restifo McCollom, Domonique Brown, Tommy Restifo, and Katlyn Rose Dembny. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Chloe, Delilah, and Lola, who brought her endless happiness and pride. Sue was preceded in death by her daughter Tricia Sue Restifo, whom she missed dearly, and her brothers Richie, Ed, and William Ginderske.

A funeral service in honor of Sue's life will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at W.L. Case & Company, located at 4480 Mackinaw Road, Saginaw. The showing will start at 9AM, with the service following at 11AM. Rev. Bill Bodnar will officiate the ceremony, after which Sue will be laid to rest at Mt Olivet Cemetery. The family will be hosting a luncheon following the burial, located at 3450 South River Road.
