Suzanne Lynn South-Taylor of Bridgeport, Michigan
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, July 11, 2021, at St. John Hospital in Detroit. She was 74 years old. Suzanne Lynn South was born on May 5, 1947, in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan to the late Ernest and Agnes (Bleise) South. She was a proud 1965 graduate of Midland High School. Following graduation, Suzanne attended MJ Murphy Beauty College in Midland and became a licensed beautician. She married the love of her life and soulmate, Gordon D. Taylor, on December 6, 2009; he survives her. Suzanne enjoyed taking trips to the casino and cooking for her family and the many gatherings she held at her home over the years. She will forever be remembered for her love and care for family and her indomitable spirit.
Surviving are her husband, Gordon D. Taylor of Bridgeport; three brothers and one sister: Richard South of St. Petersburg, FL; Jeffrey (Svetlana) South of St. Petersburg, FL; Steven South of St. Petersburg, FL; Cynthia (James) Maxson of Midland; three children: Melissa (Steve) Berent-Bristol of Grand Rapids; Greg (Lauren) Taylor of Las Vegas, NV; Brian (Laura) Taylor of Bridgeport; five grandchildren: Tyler, Garrett, Gavynn, Riley, and Mikayla. Also surviving are many cousin, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Michael South.
A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 15, 2021, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 5700 Dixie Highway. Rev. William Hessler will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakgrove Cemetery Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral chapel on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the American Diabetes Association or Dialysis Patient Citizens.
