Suzanne "Sue" H. Wenzel, 76, loving wife, mother, and grandmother was peacefully called home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 30, 2017 while surrounded by her loved ones. Suzanne was born on May 6, 1941 in Saginaw, Michigan, and was the daughter of the late Chris and Evelyn (Potier) Gross of Saginaw, Michigan. She married the love of her life, James "Jim" E. Wenzel, on November 3, 1962. He survives her. Sue was a lifelong member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church. Sue cherished her time spent with her family and friends, including annual Christmas shopping trips with her grandkids, breakfast and lunch with friends, cheering on her grandkids at their many extracurricular events, and spending winters in Daytona Beach, Florida with her husband. She loved spending time in her garden, traveling, reading, quilting, and crocheting. Surviving besides her husband, James, are three daughters, one son, and their spouses, Christy and Steve Boehler; Carrie and Scott Stedry; Beth and Harold Boehler; and Thomas "Tom" and Ashley Wenzel; ten grandchildren, Jeremy (Jenna) Stedry, Kara (Travis) Galbraith, and Zachary Stedry; Taylor (Matthew Gaudard), Mackenzie (Jonathon Grace), and Emmett Boehler; Caitlin and Courtney Boehler; and Luke and Everett Wenzel; three sisters and their husbands, Kathleen North; Linda and Bob Wright; Laurie and Dave Kelso; three sisters-in-law, Joanne Gross, Mary Wenzel, and Carol and Cary Jackson; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers and a sister, Edward, Janette, and Dale Gross; two brothers-in-law, Terry Wenzel and Larry North. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 5, 2017, at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 8795 Ederer Rd. Saginaw, MI; Pastor Joshua Becker will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday and then on Thursday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
