Mikolaski, Ted Saginaw, Michigan Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle passed away late Thursday, January 9, 2014, at Wellspring Lutheran Home in Frankenmuth. Age 92 years. Ted was born October 11, 1921, in Saginaw, the son of the late Mary (Rolka) and Frank Mikolajski. He served with the US Army Medical Corps in Greenland, during World War II. He had been employed as a tool grinder at General Motors for 34 years, retiring in 1984. He was a member of SS Simon and Jude Catholic Church. Ted loved fishing, but especially ice fishing. He enjoyed gardening, small motor repair, reading, and playing cards, especially Euchre and Poker. He married Bernice Shemanski on June 7, 1947; she survives him. He also leaves three daughters and one son, Kathy and Joe Leach, Saginaw, Tom Mikolaski, Saginaw; Jan and John Kovach, Midland; Diane and Joel Neff, Jackson; three grandchildren, Matthew Leach, Denver, Colorado; Alison and Dan Hamlin, Escanaba; and Ben Beardslee, Bay City; three great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Grace and Andrew Hamlin; a twin brother, Edward and Romaine Mikolaski, Saginaw; a sister, Martha Eberlein, Millington; several nieces, nephews, and their families. He was predeceased by two brothers, Bernard Mikolajski and Marion "Tony" Mikol, and by three sisters, Christine Rautenberg, Josephine Wisniewski, and Jane Rueger. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 13, 2014, at SS Simon and Jude Catholic Church, 2395 S. Outer Drive, Saginaw. Rev. Fr. John Mancini, OSFS, will officiate. Private committal services will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Ted's family will receive friends at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, from 4:00 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, where a parish vigil service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Sunday. Family and friends may then meet at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
