Terrance "Terry" Lee Murdock

Terrance "Terry" Lee Murdock of Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Hoyt Nursing & Rehab Center. He was 77 years old. Terrance Lee Murdock was born on May 29, 1946, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Paul and Ardis (Beckman) Murdock. He attended Saginaw High School and later proudly graduated from Delta College with an Associate's Degree where he studied refrigeration and appliance repair. Terry married the love of his life, Doris Anne Myers, on April 29, 1966; she survives him. He was the owner and operator of KenWhirl Appliance & Repair Center on Court Street in Saginaw. After obtaining his realtor's license, he briefly served as a realtor within the Saginaw Community. It was when he worked as a school bus driver, he found his calling. For over 22 years, Terry worked for Saginaw Public Schools, lovingly transporting, and befriending all the special needs kids throughout the district. He was a faithful and devout Christian, ministering to congregations in Owosso and Sanford. In 1996, he became the fulltime pastor at Christian Life Center Ministries in Bay City, Michigan, where he served the community for 26 years. The role of his lifetime, however, was to be the most loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather, he could be. He enjoyed music, whether it be playing guitar or singing, music spoke to his soul his entire life. His little peace of heaven was spending time fishing and camping on the Au Sable River, creating beautifully handcrafted pieces through his woodworking, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Terry also had a passion for baseball, especially umpiring for the various church leagues over the years. Though he could be strong-willed, he had an innate ability to connect with all children and selflessly took them in for a place of stability. He will forever be remembered for his kindness and generosity to anyone in need, for his wonderful sense of humor by always being the entertainer and comedian, and for truly living an amazing life filled with many beautiful stories and memories.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Doris Anne Murdock of Saginaw; four children: Sherri (Adrian) Tranquilino of Flushing; Stephen (Jamie) Murdock of Ellettsville, IN; Peter (Teresa) Murdock of Saginaw; Rosemary O'Brien, as well as countless honorary children; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandson with a great-granddaughter on the way; a brother, Chuck (Char) Gaiser of New Lothrop; a sister-in-law, Janet Batterbee of Gaylord. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Nathaniel Lee Murdock; a brother, Paul Murdock Jr. Honoring Terrance's wishes, cremation has taken place.
