Terrence A. O'Toole

Terrence (Terry) A. O’Toole, age 72 passed away on December 29, 2023 at his home following a lengthy illness. 

Terry was born on August 20, 1951 in Saginaw, MI, the son of Robert and Doreen (Bigelow)O’Toole, and grew up in Merrill, MI.  He graduated from Merrill High School and continued his education at Ferris State University in Accounting.  Terry spent most of his professional career working for Wolohan Lumber Company.

Terry enjoyed being around his family and friends.  He was known as a warm, friendly, compassionate and caring person. He fought Cancer with hope and dignity.  He was a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus (Merrill), Lions Club (Merrill) and was a life-long fan of the Detroit Tigers and Lions, and the Michigan State Spartans.  Terry also enjoyed golfing, fishing, and in recent years traveling to Alaska and Ireland. 

Terry was preceded in death by his parents and  is survived by his sisters and brother, Connie (Rick) Kettelhohn, Maureen O’Toole, Chris (Julie) O’Toole and Michelle (Marty) Lass.  Nieces and nephews, Carrie(Ken)Fox, Chad (Christine) Tolfree, Courtney(Bill) Johnson, Shawn(Catherine)O’Toole, Michael(Jenna) O’Toole, Molly and Brady Lass and many more relatives from the O’Toole and Bigelow families.

A Memorial Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at St. John XIII Parish of Merrill (Sacred Heart), 140 E Church St, Merrill, MI 48637, where friends may visit with the family from 9:00 a.m. until time of the service. Rev. Michael F. Steltenkamp, S.J. will officiate the service.
