Thelma E. Kidd Saginaw, Michigan Passed away August 3, 2016, at the age of 91 years. Thelma was born in Hot Coal, West Virginia on May 5, 1925, to the late Leonard and Emma (Rakes) Little. She grew up in this WV coal town with her sisters. Thelma married James Carlos Kidd on April 20, 1942, and they had two children. In 1960 Thelma and Carlos moved from WV to Taylor, Michigan where they lived until Carlos passed away in 1993. Thelma moved to Saginaw in 2000 to be closer to her son and his family. She had been an extremely active person all her life. She was very outgoing and made friends easily. Thelma also loved to walk and put many, many miles on her tennis shoes. Thelma is survived by her son, Edwin (Karen) Kidd and daughter, Drema (Sam) Fite; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and her sister, Shirley Dockery. Thelma had dementia for several years and was being cared for by the wonderful, caring staff at St. Francis Home of Thomas Twp and Heartland Hospice of Bay City. You are all blessings from Godfor the love, care, and thoughtfulness that you have given our Mom and to us. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Funeral services will take place at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 8, 2016, at W.L. Case & Company 201 N. Miller Road. Chaplain Doug Bassett will officiate the service. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Entombment will take place at a later date at Parkview Memorial Cemetery in Livonia, Michigan. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice.
