Theodore "Ted" John Nosek, Sr.

Theodore “Ted” Nosek, Sr. of Saginaw

Passed away on Monday, October 31^st, 2022, in Saginaw, Michigan, at the age of 90. Born in Saginaw on May 6^th, 1932, he was the son of the late Thomas & Anna (Konecny) Nosek. Ted married Joanne Klapko on September 17^th, 1955. She preceded him in death in November of 1989. He also spent many years with his significant other Clara Amman, who preceded him in death in March of 2013.

Ted spent his working years in tool & die, retiring after over 40 years, but his true passion was music. His life revolved around the accordion, and he mastered all three versions of the instrument. Ted played with many different Polka groups, some accompanied by his sons Ted Jr. on drums and Tom on bass and trumpet, and was inducted into the Michigan Polka Hall of Fame. He traveled all over the state and into other parts of the Midwest to perform in various music events, and was even on the Frank Yankovic Polka Variety Show.

Ted is survived by his children Jeanette (Bob) Churchill, Tom Nosek, Nancy Hines, and Ted Nosek, Jr.; grandchildren Greg (Michelle) Hall, Cassidy Hines, and Hailey Nosek; great grandchildren Averi Hall, Madelyn Hall, Garrett Hall, and Charlie Hines; and siblings Jerry Nosek; and Joanne Jarecki; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and friends.

Ted was preceded in death by his daughter Marcia Hall; and siblings Ed Nosek and Tom Nosek.
