Thomas H. Spain

Thomas Spain Saginaw, Michigan Formerly of Alpena, Michigan Beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully Friday, March 1, 2019 at the Toni & Trish House at the age of 79 years. Thomas was born April 24, 1939 in Detroit, MI, the son of the late Fred and Leone (LeFevre) Spain. He graduated from Alpena Catholic Central. He proudly served in the United States Navy. He married the love of his life, Mary Lou Sweig on May 29, 1970 in St. Helens Church in Saginaw. A man of many talents as an entrepreneur, he worked hard in marketing, advertising, and many other businesses. His most recent businesses were A & T Promotions and Advanced Marketing. Along with his work ethic, Thomas was optimistic and had a great sense of humor. He loved to fly as a licensed private pilot, as well as go boating and RVing around Michigan. Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Mary Lou Spain of Saginaw; a daughter, Michelle Thompson of Saginaw, a son-in-law Doug Thompson of Saginaw; three grandchildren, Christian, Raven, Toby; a nephew, Jimbo Sweig; close friends, Al Snow, Tom Clark, Paul Key, and Duane Malburg. Thomas was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred Spain and Bob Spain. A special thank you from the family to the Toni & Trish Hospice House and Covenant VNA Hospice for their compassionate care for Thomas. A Celebration of Thomas life will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the offices of Snow Productions, Central Warehouse, 1840 N. Michigan Ave., Second Floor, Saginaw, Michigan, 48602. Following Thomass wishes, cremation has taken place.
