Thomas Karl Moffett

Moffett, Thomas Karl Saginaw, MI Passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Covenant Healthcare, age 67 years. Thomas was born in Saginaw, Michigan October 30, 1947 the son of Thomas P. and the late Erna (Jezek) Moffett. He married Susan North May 13, 2005 and she survives him. Thomas served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He spent much of the war on a mountain top in Korea serving as a programmer for surface to air missiles. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 439. He worked for many years as an electrical engineer for Wilson Machine, which became Lucas Assembly and Test. Thomas was a kind and generous person, willing to help anybody in need. He also considered himself a fine comedian. It was just fun to be around him. He kept his sense of humor, even through his pain and suffering and he will be greatly missed by those of us who loved him. His favorite way to face problems was simply "JUST DO IT". In addition to his wife, Susan (Dively) and father, Thomas, he is survived by the mother of his children, Linda Mainprize-Reynolds; his daughter, Sarah Moffett-Jeffrey; his son, Aaron S. Moffett; a granddaughter, Erica Jeffrey; three step-children, Steven North, Paul North and Melanie North; seven step-grandchildren, Cassandra North, Ashley Gamez, Steven W. North, Samantha North, Alex Zazo, Brianna Zazo and Travis North and a brother, Donald Moffett. In addition to his mother, Erna, Thomas was predeceased by a brother, Jon Moffett and a sister, Terri Lynn Blakely. The funeral service will take place 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at W.L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. Rob Richards will officiate with military services taking place under the auspices of American Legion Post No. 439. Friends may visit with the family at the chapel on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service.
