Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away at home with his devoted family by his side on December 21, 2016, at the age of 78. Tom was born November 5, 1938, in Saginaw to the late Raymond and Madge (Heinitz) Foy. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. He married Laraine Lambert on August 28, 1965; she survives him. He retired as a welder from Steering Gear in 1994 where he had over 30 years of service. He was a member of St. John XXIII Parish, St. Mary's and Sacred Heart Churches. He was a lifetime member of Field and Stream. He loved the outdoors and avidly hunted, fished, camped, and golfed. Most of all he cherished his family. He will be dearly missed by his wife Laraine; children, Bethany A. (Jack) Wallace, Patricia R. (Todd) VanNorden, Linda S. (Roy) Glazier; grandchildren, Eva, Stephanie, Donald, Britany, Natasha, Zackery, Zane, Kiersten, Rylie, Cole, Julius, and Elijah; 10 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, Mark, Jeff, and Chris Szorik, Mike Neering, Mary Burt, Linda Hartley, Catherine Thorington, Mike Foy, Robert Foy; sisters-in-law, Linda Szorik, Barbara Neering, Joy Monroe; brother-in-law, Timothy Lambert; and special friends, Charlie, Rick, Joe, Gary, and his morning coffee friends. He was predeceased by his son Donald Jones. The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice, Covenant Select Specialty Hospital, the Merrill Fire Department/Community, and the staff at Bambinos for the care and support provided to Tom and his family. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at St. John XXIII Parish Sacred Heart Church. Fr. Dennis Kucharczyk will officiate with burial to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Hemlock. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday at W.L. Case & Company 125 E. Saginaw Street in Merrill from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. where the family will gather at 7:00 p.m. for a prayer service. Friends may also visit with the family at church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
