Valarie "Val" Renee O'Farrell

Beloved mother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 18, 2019. She was36 years old. Valarie Renee OFarrell was born on June 27, 1982 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Dennis and Shirley (Yanna) OFarrell. She was a proud 2002 graduate of Arthur Hill High School. While in High School, Val began working for Wendys Restaurant and continued to for the past 20 years. She was a faithful member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Val was an avid Michigan Football fan and enjoyed camping. Above all, she loved spending time with her 13-year-old son, Ricky. He was her entire world and she loved him to the moon and back. She will forever be remembered by her son, Richard OFarrell of Saginaw Township; two brothers and two sisters, Martin (Christine) Moon of Hemlock; Colleen (Kristopher) Hodge of HI; Tracy Barnes and her fianc, Tim Sian of Saginaw; and Matthew OFarrell of Saginaw; and a special friend, Terry Fields of Saginaw. Also surviving are many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dennis and Shirley OFarrell; and her grandparents, Jack and Yvonne OFarrell and Harold and Rosemary Yanna. A Funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at the Kochville United Methodist Church, 6030 Bay Road, Saginaw, Michigan. Pastor Michael Sawicki will officiate. Honoring Vals wishes cremation has taken place. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the church on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Autism Alliance of Michigan.
