Krajniak, Valentine F. "Bill" Saginaw, Michigan Bill put on his boots and went home to enjoy eternal peace in God's Kingdom at the age of 82 years on June 5, 2013 surrounded by his family. Bill was born on September 13, 1930 in Posen, MI to the late Frank and Clara (Woida) Krajniak. He married Hazel Campbell on October 27, 1956 at St. Mary's Nine Mile Catholic Church in Pinconning, MI; she survives him. Bill served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War; serving at the 38th parallel with the 2998th ENGR Co. Prior to his retirement in 1986 he was employed by C.A. Hull Co. of Walled Lake as a crane operator. He was involved in building many of Michigan's bridges. He was a proud member of International Union of Operating Engineers, local #324 for more than fifty years. He also enjoyed deer hunting, rabbit hunting, snowmobiling and many trips back to Posen. After his retirement he enjoyed woodworking, doing yard work, camping, going to union picnics, mule deer hunting in the Western states. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and family. Surviving besides his wife of 56 years, Hazel, are their children; James (Susan) Krajniak of Woodsville, NH; Robert (Shelley) Krajniak of Carrollton, MI; Darlene (Scott) Egerer of Saginaw Twp, MI; Dennis (Laurie) of Thomas Twp, MI; 17 Grandchildren, 5 Great-grandchildren, a brother, Dominic (Janet) Krajniak, Sisters Rita (Sam) Harger, Mary Goyette, Martina Flaga, Mabel (Ernest) Wrobel, three sister-in-laws Dorothy Krajniak, Patricia Krajniak and Bonnie Krajniak and several nieces and nephews and his loyal dog, Buddy. Bill was predeceased by his brothers Ray, Ervin, Norbert and Clarence, his sisters Gail, Isabelle, and Bernadine. The family would like to thank Ann Himmelein, Jim and Sue Krajniak and Heartland Hospice; especially Marilyn for their loving care they gave Bill. Funeral liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2013 at St. Josaphat Catholic Church, 469 Shattuck Rd., Saginaw. Rev. Ronald Dombrowski will officiate with military burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery under the auspices of V.F.W. Post #7302. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Company, Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. on Friday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. with a prayer service 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday at church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral liturgy.
