Vera Dice
Saginaw, MI
Passed away peacefully at her home Wednesday, August 17, 2022, with her children Steven, Robin and Bridget spending her last days at her side. Vera was born February 24, 1932, in Wishek North Dakota to the late Walter and Rose Donner. A loving and tremendous wife, mom and grandma, Vera spent 62 years married to the love of her life, the late Bob Dice. Before retiring, Vera worked for many years as a Secretary at Baker Perkins, Shields Junior High, and Campbell Oil Company. She was an active member of Second Presbyterian church, the Fraternal Order of Eagles and served on committees and hosted the Friday night Fish Frys at the Polish Falcon’s Club.
Vera shared many an adventure traveling with her family, actively involved with her kids and grand kids’ activities, golfing and bowling on multiple leagues, square dancing, playing shuffleboard and going on regular gambling trips with her gal pals. She loved her flowers and anyone who drove by her house would routinely see her in the front yard, tending to them.
Vera will be missed by her children Steven Dice, Robin (Ron) Zeitler and Bridget Styers; grandchildren Adam (Melissa) Styers and Evan (Melanie) Zeitler; brother Donald (Betty) Donner; many nieces and nephews and an extensive circle of extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Bob Dice; two children David and Annette Dice; seven brothers and sisters, Leo Donner, Delores (Nick) Zins, Emanual (Edna) Donner, Ralph (Erna) Donner and Donna Mae (George) Donner.
A special thanks goes out to the many healthcare providers who fought along-side Vera during her six- year battle with Lung Cancer and the kind and compassionate professionals from the Care Team who cared for Vera during her last days. Thank you also to the members of Second Presbyterian church who always had her in their prayers and gave of their time to visit, send cards, and bring cookies to the house.
Funeral services will take place on Wednesday September 7, 2022, at 11:00 am at Second Presbyterian Church, 2665 Midland Road, Saginaw, MI. Pastor Philomena Ofori-Nipaal will officiate services with burial at Roselawn Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at W.L. Case & Company, Funeral Chapel, 201 N.
