On Wednesday, December 22, 2021, surrounded by her daughters, our Heavenly Father embraced Vera to her heavenly home. Age 84 years.
Vera was born on June 12, 1937, daughter of the late Maurice and Frances (Cruz) Murillo, in Havana, Minnesota.
She enjoyed life to the fullest and loved her family. Vera enjoyed playing BINGO and frequent trips to the casino with her sister Irene. Her passion was teaching her family how to cook and dance. She loved Mexican music! Vera was known for her famous tamales, which so many enjoyed. She liked to sit on her porch, was very well known and loved in her community. She was Grams to everyone.
Vera will be missed by her daughters, Frances Paramo, LouAnn (Victor) Gonzales and Alisa (Derrick Sr.) Akins; her grandchildren, Steve Jr., Benessica, Tristan, Ruben, Anastacia, Derrick Jr., Miranda, Darius, Celia, Moses, Selena and Emilio; many great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, including three special nieces, Tanisha Chavez, Nicole (Todd) Adkins and Martina (Wayne) Galbreth. She was predeceased by her sisters, Nellie Gomez, Alice Torres, Jenny DeLeon and Guadalupe “Irene” Garcia, brothers, Phillip and Robert Murillo; grandson, Tristan M. “Tre-60” Aguilar, special nephew, Jesse “Buggs” Chavez and special friend, Sue Ann Waters.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Elara Caring Hospice Staff and the nurses of Safe Hands Warm Hearts, for their exceptional care for Vera.
Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at W. L. Case and Company, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Deacon Librado Gayton will officiate with burial in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the chapel and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
