Williams, Vern Allen Birch Run, Michigan Passed away Tuesday, December 04, 2012 at St. Mary's of Michigan, age 91 years. Vern was born in Saginaw, Michigan May 17, 1921 the son of the late Lewis and Rosetta (Vitito) Williams. He married Louise Vanderlip July 3, 1948 and she survives him. Vern served with the United States Navy during World War II, being stationed in Pearl Harbor for 4 years. He coached Little League Baseball; was an avid walker and bowler. In addition to his wife, Vern is survived by four children, Patrick (Diane) Williams, Dennis Williams, Deborah Duranseau and Bradley Williams; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild on the way; a brother, Jack Williams; a sister, Barbara Lawrence; a sister-in-law, Delores Desander; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Daniel Williams; three brothers, John, Lewis and Merle Williams; a sister, Millie Williams; a daughter-in-law, Beth Williams; three brothers-in-law, John and Wayne Vanderlip and Rene Desander and a sister-in-law, Norma Vanderlip. The funeral service will take place 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 8, 2012 at W. L. Case & Co., 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. Ronald Sinclair will officiate with burial in Birch Run Township Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the chapel Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until time of the service.
