Vernis M. Welling

Vernis M. Welling Frankenmuth, Michigan Formerly of Bridgeport Passed away Thursday, July 28, 2016, at Covenant-Cooper. Age 89 years. The daughter of the late Elsa (Grandjean) and Harold Frahm was born April 28, 1927 in Frankenmuth, Michigan. She married Duane A. Welling, August 29, 1948. He passed away February 14, 2009. She was a member of Warren Ave. Presbyterian Church. She was employed by Bridgeport High School and later by the State of Michigan, retiring in 1982. She enjoyed camping, bingo, decorating for the holidays and most of all her family. Surviving are four children and their spouse, Linda Parent, Bay City, MI; Lori and Dale Weeldreyer, Fort Collins, CO; Mark and Candy Welling, Burt, MI; Tim and Brenda Welling, Portage, MI; her grandchildren, Jill (Paul) Hueser; Paul Weeldreyer; Jeremy (Lisa) Parent; Spencer, Bradley, and Blake Welling; her great grandchildren, Aubrey Parent; Kaiden and Kellan Hueser; her sisters, Dorothy Wolfe, Lois (Ralph) Frederick; her brother, Dale (Bernice) Frahm; her sisters-in-law, Lois Frahm; Peggy Wesnick; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, and brothers, Alvin, Stewart, Carl, Don, Arthur and Burton. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 1, 2016, at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 5700 Dixie Hwy. Rev. Douglas Leffler will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the Chapel from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday.
