Vicente G. Torres, Sr.

Torres, Sr. Vicente G. "Uncle Shorty" Saginaw, MI Vicente was called Home on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at home at the age of 84 years. The son of the late Juan and Severa (Guzman) Torres was born on November 5, 1929 in Lockhart, Texas. He married Ramona R. Rodarte on September 21, 1951; she predeceased him on June 13, 2001. Vicente retired from GM in 1993 after 28 1/2 years of service. Vicente was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church. He enjoyed gardening, going to the casino and especially loved to visit and joke with family and friends. Surviving are his children: Vicente R. Torres, Jr. and his wife Gloria of Saginaw, MI; Matilde J. Torres and his partner Victor W. Dinsmoore of Traverse City, MI; Victoria R. Torres and Carlos Deleon of Saginaw, MI, 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, a sister, Bertha T. Gonzales of Taft, TX and many nieces and nephews. Vicente was predeceased by several siblings. Funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 1, 2014 at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Fr.
