Victor Campbell Sr.
Saginaw, MI
Harlingen, TX
Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away on November 29, 2021. Age 87 years.
The son of the late Pauline (Garcia) and Alberto Campbell was born December 11, 1933, in Weslaco, Texas. Victor proudly served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Noemi Cardoza on May 5, 1957; she predeceased him on April 25, 2011. He then married Connie Cortez on October 28, 2011; she survives him. Victor was the founder of Campbell Trucking Co, starting his business with only one dump truck in 1968. He was a great mentor and tremendously hard worker, always the first to show up and last to leave. At one time he worked three jobs at once; working at GM, driving a school bus, and running his trucking company.
He loved everything to do with trucks and his business. Even after retirement he would still go to his business just to hang out in the shop.
Surviving along with his wife of 10 years, Connie Campbell, are four children; Victor Campbell Jr., Betty Campbell, Tony (Gina) Campbell and Thomas (Claudia) Campbell: seven grandchildren; Merissa Campbell, Victor Campbell III, Rachel Campbell, Tony (Katrina) Campbell Jr., Melody (Tyler) Walker, Thomas Campbell Jr., and Rose Campbell: and one great-grandchild, Natalie. He is also survived by six siblings; Elva, Ofelia, Mary, John, Sally and Albert, as well as many nieces, nephews, and relatives.
He was predeceased by his oldest son, Robert Campbell and daughter-in-law, Rosa Ramos Campbell.
