Victor "Vic" L. Payne

Victor “Vic” Luther Payne of Bridgeport, Michigan

Beloved father, grandfather, son, and brother passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 15, 2020, at his home, one day short of his 59th birthday. Victor Luther Payne was born on March 16, 1961, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Lawrence J. and Helena (Moncado) Payne. He was employed with Fredd’s Auto Salvage for over 20 years, working as their Sales Manager. He enjoyed fishing salmon, trout, and walleye. Vic enjoyed camping and being outdoors embracing his Native American – Cherokee heritage.

Surviving are a daughter, Melanie (Aaron) Cattingham of NC; son, Victor Robert Wittmuss of Saginaw; Austin Wittmuss (whom with Vic shared a special kinship) of San Antonio Texas two grandchildren, Owen and Avery; mother, Helena Payne of Saginaw; four brothers and one sister: Lawrence Payne of Bridgeport; Mark (Raylene) Payne of Barryington, MI; Julie Allish of Brooksville, FL; Gerald Payne of Bridgeport; Dean Payne of Bridgeport; Lee Payne of FL; a good friend, Karen (Palmer) Blaisdell of Flint. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.

Honoring Vic’s wishes cremation has taken place with a private memorial service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the family c/o Melanie Cattingham.
