Violet A. Gilmore of Breckenridge, Michigan
Beloved grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, and friend passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at Schnepp Senior Care & Rehab Center in St. Louis. She was 92 years old. Violet A. Dittmar was born on August 26, 1929, in Saginaw. She was a graduate of Merrill High School. She married the love of her life, Kenneth C. Gilmore on August 28, 1948; he preceded her in death on September 29, 1996. Violet was a faithful member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hemlock, Michigan. Throughout her life, Violet proudly took care of her home. She was meticulous in with cleaning; everything was always tidy and had its own place. She also enjoyed working in her yard tending to her flowers. Above all, Violet loved spending time outside and being with her grandchildren. She will forever be remembered for her perfectionism, selflessness to all, and her indomitable spirit.
Surviving are a sister, Betty (Art) Lauer of Merrill, granddaughter, Kasandra Rose Gilmore and her fiancé, Jeff Sasse of Breckenridge; William Gilmore and his fiancée, Courtney Jenkins of West Branch; Jimmy Gilmore and his girlfriend, Cammy. Also surviving are many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, extended family, and dear friends.
She as preceded in death by her parents, husband, Kenton A. Gilmore; three sons: Walter, Harold, and Williams Gilmore.
A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at St. John Lutheran Church, 2290 Pretzer Road, Hemlock. Pastor Philip Loescher will officiate. Burial will follow at Lakefield Township Cemetery. All are welcome to visit with the family on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
