Violet Irene "Vi" Knights of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 22, 2019, at HealthSource of Saginaw. She was 88 years old. Violet Irene Barowski was born on October 9, 1931, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Frank and Irene (Kocinski) Barowski. She met the love of her life, William F. Knights, three weeks following his honorable discharge from the United States Air Force. Williams father introduced them while attending an event at the Saginaw American Club. It was love at first sight. William and Violet were united in Marriage four weeks later on September 18, 1954; he survives her. She was a longtime faithful member of State Street United Methodist Church. Vi and Bill enjoyed traveling with their senior travel club and were grateful for many of the friendships they made along the way. She also enjoyed crocheting and baking, especially for the church bazaar sale. Vi also loved gardening, going to the casino, and playing Bingo. Above all, she loved and cherished her family.
Surviving are her husband of 65 years, William Knights of Saginaw; three sons and a daughter: Dennis (Sharon) Knights of Goodrich; David (Gloria) Knights of Saginaw; Douglas (Tracy) Knights of Pine, CO; Diane Knights of Saginaw; eight grandchildren: Chad Knights, Laura Knights, Kimberly Knights, Tina Knights, David (Alyssa) Knights, Robert (Ashley) Knights, Jameson Knights, Alyssa Knights; great-grandson, Parker Knights; sister, Linda (Rich) Lomba of Bay City.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Dawson and Marie (Walt) Butzin. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 27, 2019, at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Rev. Julie Bailey will officiate. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorials Gardens. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
