Virginia "Ginny" A. (Pahssen) Boehler of Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully at her home, with her family by her side, on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, following a lengthy battle with cancer. She was 78 years old. Virginia Ann Pahssen was born on December 5, 1944, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Harry and Theresa (DeShone) Pahssen. She was a proud graduate of Ss. Peter & Paul High School. In the 8th grade, Ginny met the love of her life, Harold James Boehler, at Brockway Roller Rink. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on May 9, 1964; he survives her. The role of her lifetime, and one she treasured and cherished her entire life, was to be a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Ginny was a longtime and faithful member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time tending to both her vegetable and flower gardens, fishing, as well as rock hunting. An excellent communicator, Ginny made friends wherever she went, including her trips to the casino. Her little piece of heaven was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, always attending any of their schooling and sporting events. She also enjoyed watching her favorite baseball team, the Detroit Tigers. A caregiver her entire life, she will forever be remembered for her selfless love to everyone she cared about, for always putting others before herself, and for truly living and amazing life filled with many beautiful stories and memories.

Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Harold James Boehler Sr. of Saginaw; three children: Harold (Beth) Boehler, Jr. of Saginaw; Cheryl (Kevin) Burgess of Saginaw; Brian (Ashley Shevchenko) Boehler of Saginaw; five grandchildren: Sarah, Callie, and Jessica Burgess, Caitlin and Courtney Boehler; a sister, Betty Lou Berg of Saginaw; sisters-in-law: Gertrude Budd, Caroline (Alden) Roggow, Violet Burback, Rose Marie (Gordon) Campbell; brothers-in-law: Herman (Joanne) Boehler, Roger (Joanne) Boehler. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Harry and Theresa Pahssen; father- and mother-in-law: Herman and Rose (Kretz) Boehler; brothers: Henry and Leon Pahssen; sisters: Marcella Pahssen and Doreen McDonald; brothers-in-law: Dan McDonald, Cecil Berg, Richard Budd, and Paul Burback; and a sister-in-law, Maryann Boehler.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Covenant VNA Hospice for all the love and care they provided to Ginny and the family, especially Ashley and Jessica.

Honoring Ginny's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at the W. L. Case & Company, 201 N. Miller Road. Rev. Fr. Peter J. Gaspeny will officiate. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral chapel on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Ginny's son, Harold J. Boehler, Jr. and his battle with Kidney Cancer. Please share your thoughts and memories with the family at the funeral home or through www.casefuneralhome.com.
