Virginia “Ginny B” Marie Bushey of Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister-in-law, and friend passed away peacefully on Friday, July 3, 2020, at Wellspring of Saginaw. She was 92 years old. Virginia Marie Parker was born on June 25, 1928, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Clark and Margaret (Kennedy) Parker. She was a proud graduate of Arthur Hill High School. Before graduation, Ginny B worked for Consumers Power and Michigan Oil. She met the love of her life, Duane A. Bushey in 1945 and were united in marriage on September 4, 1948; he preceded her in death on February 23, 2013. Duane worked for his father at Bushey Automotive and purchased the business in 1977. Ginny B assisted Duane’s mother, Leona Bushey in office management and daily operations of the business, and then eventually took over the position. She also owned and operated a wholesale parts business called Delta Valley Automotive and had 37 employees at one time. Ginny B sold Delta Valley to Bushey Automotive and worked until she retired at 72 years old. She was an avid Bridge player and a longtime member of the Saginaw Club, a place she loved spending time and where she received her nickname, “The Ginny B.” She enjoyed her life right up to the end.

Surviving are a son, Robert Morris (Cheryl) Bushey of Saginaw; two grandchildren: Justin (Jennifer) Stuart of Midland, and their three children: Cameron, Olivia, and Julia Stuart; Danielle (Jacob) Miller of Saginaw, and their two children: Guinevere Virginia and George Miller; special group of people: Jan (Perry) Bushey and Cheryl Clark; two very special sisters-in-law, Janice Walz and Kay Moore. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ricki Susan Bushey in January 2015; sister-in-law, Sue Luxton in September 2012; and a special friend, John Reardon who passed away in October 2019, her grandson, Brandon Stuart, her sister and brother, Kate and Jim Parker.

A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State Street. Rev. Fr. Richard Bokinskie will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow at Chapel Hill Mausoleum. Family and friends are welcome to visit at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Due to restrictions set forth by the State of Michigan and the worldwide health pandemic, all visitors are required to wear a mask or face covering and practice social distancing. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church or the Shriners Hospital for Children.
