Wanda was born on October 04, 1930 in Birch Run, MI to parents Elerick and Mildred (Spears) Raquepaw. She married Harry Alexander McBratnie on October 10, 1955; he predeceased her on November 22, 1981.She was a member and past president of Saginaw League of Catholic Women, elected Auditor for the County of Saginaw, Chairwoman for the Saginaw Republican Women's Committee, loved to travel and work in her flower garden.
Wanda is survived by her children Gary (Susan) Schwartz, Thomas Schwartz, Harry (Doris) McBratnie Jr, Deitra (Thomas) Nowak, grandchildren: Troy (Sherri) Schwartz, Amy Schwartz, Jennifer (Dawayne) Houghteling, Stephanie Schwartz, Matthew Schwartz, Jamie Schwartz, Emilee McBratnie, Justin Staley, Rachel Nowak, Abby Nowak and her sister Lorraine Shepard. She is also survived by 7 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She is preceded in death by her brothers and sisters; Wilbur (Dorothy), Woodrow (Irene), Robert (Alida) Raquepaw, Bernice Smith, Marguerite Matzke, Jerry Marie Thrasher, Leola Swart, Mary Jean (Peachy) Raquepaw.
A funeral liturgy will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2021 SS Francis and Clare Parish, 12157 Church St., Birch Run, MI with Fr. Thomas McNamara officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery. Friends and family will be received at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 5700 Dixie HWY from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday January 5, 2020 and at church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral liturgy. Pursuant to current state executive orders, building capacity is limited, face masks are required and social distancing encouraged. We appreciate everyone's efforts to mitigate the spread of covid-19 in our community. Memorials may be made to Saginaw League of Catholic Women or VFW in Michigan of your choice.
