Wayne Floyd Hubbell, age 82, of Hemlock, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025, with his loving family by his side.
Wayne was born in Hemlock, Michigan on December 30, 1942, to the late Floyd Lee Hubbell and Elsie Arlene (Fischer) Hubbell. He graduated from Hemlock High School, class of 1960. After high school he went to work for Hemlock Semi-Conductor, where he retired after 35 years of service. He was a member of Second Presbyterian Church in Saginaw. He was married to Judith Vetengle for 23 years. He later married Kathleen (Rau) Hubbell in 1987; she survives him. Wayne loved the outdoors. He would spend countless hours farming and cutting wood, and loved all animals. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and would spend time going to Round Lake in Gladwin, and his cabin in Roscommon. Most of all he was a loving and devoted husband, father, grand-father, and great-grandfather. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events whenever he could.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen Hubbell; four children and their spouses, Denise and Scott Wilson, Michelle Oczepek, Douglas and Linda Hubbell, and Jessica and Kevin Cordingly; fourteen grandchildren and their spouses, Krystle and Ben Poulin, Megan and Adam Chamberlain, Lindsay and Josh Verkaik, Cody Oczepek, Cassandra and Nathan Neuenfeldt, Emmalee and Eric Hartman, Ivan and Alexi Hubbell, Allison, Bella, Faith, David, Harrison, Micah, and Madelyn Cordingly; fourteen great-grandchildren and one more expected soon; one brother, Glenn Hubbell; several nieces and nephews; and his dear friend Brian Watkins.
Private interment will take place in Richland Township Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Second Presbyterian Church, 2665 Midland Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603, with Pastor Ruth Estell officiating.
