Wayne Michael Krueger

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away on March 19, 2018 at the age of 68 years. The son of the late Gerhardt and Muriel (LaBrake) Krueger was born on November 3, 1949 in Saginaw, MI. He married Sharon Mellott on November 9, 1968; she survives him. Wayne served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Vietnam. During his service, he received several service medals: Bronze Star, Silver Star, Commendation Medal with "V" Device, many air medals, two purple hearts and a combat infantry badge. He was also a certified dog handler in the Army, working with three dogs with the last one named Kemo who was mentioned in his friend Johnny Mayos book: "War Dogs!". After the war, Wayne worked for Grey Iron Foundry, retiring after over 30 years of service. He was a member of Bridgeport Community Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, puzzles and especially cherished time spent with his family and grandchildren. Surviving besides his wife of 49 years, Sharon, are their son: Michael (fianc Laura Vos) G. Krueger, grandsons: Jake M. Krueger, Austin M. Krueger, brothers: Ronald Krueger, Jerry (Maureen) Krueger, his sister: Janice Wahr, brothers and sisters-in-law: Sue Krueger, Richard (Carole) Mellott, Carolyn (Paul) DeSander, Marilyn Mellott and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Tom Krueger, brothers-in-law: John Wahr, Robert Mellott and his father and mother-in-law: Gibson and Betty Mellott.
