Wendell A. Turner

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at the age of 95 years.

The son of the late Edward and Ella (Pifer) Turner was born on October 18, 1928 in Hemlock. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany. He married Shirley Ann Mead on December 9, 1950; she predeceased him on July 3, 1987. He later married Shirley Raymond; she also predeceased him on April 5, 2024. Wendell retired from Hemlock Public Schools as head of maintenance after 35 years of service. He was a member of Four Points United Methodist Church. Wendell enjoyed woodworking, tinkering with electronics and on the family farm, and most especially cherished time spent with his family.

Surviving are his children: Clarence (Karen) Turner, Mark (Robin) Turner, Harold (Laurie) Turner, Jane Turner, Louanne Turner, grandchildren: Wendy (Jim) Baty, Amy (Jason) Gole, Tim Turner, Rachel (Tim) Swint, Sean Turner, Justin (Melissa) Turner, Kip (Angie) Turner, Eric (Andres) Turner, Melissa Turner, Jared Turner, 17 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Besides his parents and spouses, Wendell is predeceased by his son, Randy Turner and two brother and seven sisters.

Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Four Points United Methodist Church, 406 W. Saginaw St., Hemlock, MI. Rev. Robert Richards will officiate with burial at Richland Township Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 201 N. Miller Rd. and at church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
