Wesley Roy Blohm Zilwaukee, Michigan Passed away Monday, January 5, 2015, at Covenant-Copper. Age 94 years. The son of the late Fred and Meta (Schroeder) Blohm was born February 23, 1920 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Selma (Sammie) Zanner, October 28, 1950. She passed away December 7, 2014. Wesley graduated from Arthur Hill Trade School and served with the U. S. Army during WWII and was a member of the American Legion and V.F.W. Post #1859. He was employed by Jacox Co., Wickes Machine and Saginaw Steering Gear, retiring with 36 years of service. He was an active member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church where he served on the Vestry Board and in many other capacities. He also served on the Zilwaukee City Council. Wesley enjoyed speed skating, playing softball, hunting, fishing, golfing, woodworking, building anything, bowling and especially attending his grandchildren's sporting events with his wife. Surviving are a son, a daughter and their spouses; Jim and Judy Blohm; Lynn and Dale Taylor. A son, David Blohm has predeceased him. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Jeremy and Taylor Blohm; Josh and Amanda Blohm; Kara and Matt Schroeder; Leya Taylor; Adrea and Keith Gardner; his great grandchildren, Tyler and Whitney Blohm; Riley and Jordan Blohm; Alexandra, Ava, and Caleb Schroeder; Kerin and Emma Gardner; his sister-in-law, Irene Graff; several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by two brothers, Richard A. and Raymond Blohm and a sister, Irma Blohm. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 9, 2015, at St. John Lutheran Church, 318 S. Franklin St. Zilwaukee. Pastor Marcus Manthey will officiate with Military burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens under the auspices of V.F.W. Post #1859. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday and then at the Church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
