Willard Junior Newman

Willard Junior Newman, a beloved member of the community and devoted family man, passed away on January 30, 2025, at the age of 80. He was born in Afton, Michigan, on April 11, 1944, to the late Millard Newman and Callie Mae (Moore) Newman. 

Willard was united in marriage with Marcia Lou (Slagle) Newman on June 15, 1963. He dedicated a significant portion of his life to his career, proudly serving as a forklift operator for General Motors until his retirement in 1997 after 34 years of commitment and hard work. Beyond his professional endeavors, Willard had a passion for the great outdoors. He found joy in riding his motorcycle, as well as engaging in hunting and fishing, activities that brought him much happiness and joy throughout his life.

Willard is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Marcia Lou Newman; their daughter, Michelle Kelly and her husband David, and son, Willard Paul Newman; grandchildren, Magen Kelly, Drew Kelly and his wife Amber, Zachary Newman, and Kayla Newman; great-grandson Liam Kelly; his sister, Patty Ann Alcott, and his brother Donald Newman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Willard was preceded in death by his parents, Millard Newman and Callie Mae (Moore) Newman; and four sisters, Charlotte, Jean, Betty Jane, and Charlene.
