Willet "Bill" James Ware

Loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother passed away on Friday, September 1st, 2023, at the age of 86. Bill was born to the late Clinton & Edith (Lewis) Ware in Bad Axe, Michigan, on February 15th, 1937, and was raised by Clinton and his wife Jessie. He spent time in the Merchant Marines before his employment with General Motors/Malleable Iron, retiring after over 50 years of loyal service. Bill met Joan Robbins through her sister Sally and the two were soon inseparable, marrying on August 23rd, 1958m, and spending over 65 years together. She survives him. An outdoorsman at heart, Bill loved hunting trips with the guys and fishing in Canada. He kept an immaculate lawn and loved to ride around on his lawnmower. Bill tried to stay active and loved taking trips with his friends and family, a favorite being a bicycle ride to Mackinaw City where he tent-camped along the way. He is remembered as being an easygoing and caring man who was strong but with a soft heart. Bill was a great husband and father who will be missed by his family that cherished him.

Bill is survived by his wife Joan; children William (Lori) Ware, Deborah (Jerry) VanOoteghem, Todd (Tracy) Ware, and Stephanie (Julie) Ware; grandchildren Jared (Megan) Ware, Aaron (Katie) Ware, Amy (Tim) Lane, Jill (Bob) Adamowski, Nicholas VanOoteghem, Amanda (Zachary) Watson, Sarah Ware, Audrey (Josh) Larner and their children; and siblings Don, Mary, Betty, Dorothy, Cathy, and Esther; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members, friends, and his faithful dog missy

Bill was preceded in death by uncles Jim Lewis, Kenneth Lewis, Stanley Lewis and long-time coworkers and friends, Bud Bailey and Cliff Chase.

A private service for Bill will take place at a later date, with entombment at St. Andrews Mausoleum. Please share your thoughts, prayers, and memoires with the family on www.casefuneralhome.com.
