William “Bill” M. Koboldt of Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved husband, “dog dad,” uncle, cousin, and friend passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Sunday, December 29, 2024. He was 79 years old. William Michael Koboldt was born on February 21, 1945, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Elmer A. and Ruth E. (Lehmann) Koboldt. He was a proud graduate of Arthur Hill High School. Bill met the love of his life, Helen M. Jones, through a mutual boss. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on May 19, 1973; she survives him. Bill was employed with M. Curry, later known as Endurance Carbide, as a tool and die maker and manager, retiring in 2009 with over 50 years of loyal and dedicated service. He was a longtime and faithful member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Bill enjoyed spending time camping, boating, and fishing. He also enjoyed bowling, playing shuffleboard and cards, as well as going to the casino. Bill and Helen loved to travel, especially to Florida. He held a special place in his heart for animals, especially his four beloved dogs. Bill will forever be remembered for being a kind and quiet soul, for being meticulous and assertive – making sure to get all things done, for his selflessness to those he loved, and for truly living an amazing life filled with many beautiful memories and stories.

Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Helen M. Koboldt of Saginaw; his beloved dog, Riley; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth E. Koboldt, father and stepmother, Elmer A. and Helen E. Koboldt; and his three beloved dogs, Blazer, Patches, and Corky.

A funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 5700 Dixie Highway, Saginaw, MI 48601. Rev. Ted McCulloch will officiate. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral chapel on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
