William F. Sheldon

William F. Sheldon Merrill, Michigan Passed away Friday, July 29, 2016 at Schnepp's Nursing Home. Age 88 years. The son of the late Nancy M. (Valentine) and Walter E. Sheldon was born February 7, 1928 in Edmore, Michigan. He married Mary Francetic, May 26, 1984. She survives him. William enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving during WWII, Korea and Viet Nam, and retiring with 25 years of service. After retiring from the Military, he was employed by American Van Lines for 15 years. He was a member of the Lutheran faith, attending Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wheeler and St. Peter Lutheran Church, Hemlock. William enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving besides his wife, Mary, are three daughters and their husbands, Brenda and Jim Herman, Midland, MI; Clara and Jim Shannon, Sanford, FL; Dyanna and Anthony Schaaf, Justin, TX; his step-children, Michael Francetic, Merrill, MI; Sherry and Jose Tarrio, Springhill, FL; 13 Grandchidlren; 15 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Four sisters, Ardis Maxwell, Barbara Tasker, Clara Sidell and Grace Gardener have predeceased him. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel in Merrill. Military honors will be provided by the Hemlock-Merrill V.F.W. Post # 7302.
