William “Bill” Francis Miller of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 8, 2020, at his home. He was 78 years old. William Francis Miller was born on August 6, 1942, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late William and Jane (Call) Miller. He was a proud 1960 graduate of Sacred Heart High School. Bill married the love of his life, Janet Frances Bolf, on September 30, 1961; she survives him. He was a longtime employee with General Motors Grey Iron; retiring in 1986. Following retirement, Bill worked for Jack’s Fruit and Meat Market and Levi’s Saloon. He and his wife Janet were proud members of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #439. Bill enjoyed working in his yard, coaching Little League Baseball, playing cards with friends, and cheering on the Michigan Wolverines. Above all, he loved and cherished spending time with his grandchildren, especially attending their sporting events.
He will forever be remembered as a loving husband, a dedicated and loyal father, and a fun loving grandpa.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Janet F. Miller of Saginaw; two sons: Tad (Eileen) Miller of PA; Yale (Lori) Miller of Grayling; two grandchildren: Emma Miller of Beaverton; Pfc. Peter Miller of Camp LeJeune, NC; two sisters: Mary LaFray of Saginaw; Kathy O’Toole of Saginaw; two brothers: John (Helen) Miller of Midland; Rick (Renee) Miller of Nashville, TN. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law: Larry LaFray and Pat O’Toole; two sisters-in-law: Vicky Weiler and Shirley Bolf.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at the W.L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Honoring Bill’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Due to the world wide health pandemic, indoor building capacity is limited, face coverings are required, and social distancing encouraged.
